Police last night charged two 12-year-old boys with his murder.
The schoolboys, who legally can’t be named, are also accused of possession of a bladed article, namely a machete.
They appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today where they spoke only to confirm their names, dates of birth and addresses.
The pair were remanded into youth detention to next appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday.
As they were led from the dock, they waved to relatives sitting in the public gallery.
No relatives of Shawn, who is believed to have come to the UK in April this year, were present for the hearing.
The tragedy unfolded at around 8.30pm close to Stowlawn Primary School.
Sadly Shawn couldn’t be saved and was declared dead at the scene.
In a moving tribute, Shawn’s mum said: “Shawn Seesahai was a courageous, compassionate and confident young soul who sadly lost his life at the age of 19.
“He was looking forward to accomplish many future plans and ambitions.
“He cared dearly about his family and friends and he absolutely loved to help people.
“He was a generous person and had a good personality.
“We will always have him in our hearts.”
