The mum, who had only popped out to get something from her own car, suffered catastrophic injuries in the horror.
Tragically she couldn’t be saved and was declared dead at the scene in Ashford, Kent.
Cain has now been jailed for ten years and ten months after pleading guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and leaving the scene of an accident and not reporting it.
Maidstone Crown Court heard Cain had spent the day at the Faversham Hop Festival on September 2 where he took a cocktail of booze, cocaine and cannabis.
He then got behind the wheel of his Ford Fiesta and was seen driving erratically moments before hitting Lisa.
Alex Krikler, prosecuting, said: “It would appear she was able to throw her child to safety in the instance before the collision, but stood no chance of taking any evasive action herself.”
Callous Cain then sped away from the crash, hit a sign and almost smashed into another car before abandoning his own vehicle.
He was later found asleep in his bed covered in mud and dried blood.
Toxicology tests showed Cain was more than twice over the drink-drive limit.
Tragically, Lisa couldn’t be saved and was declared dead at the scene. while her three-year-old son suffered minor physical injuries.
In a moving victim impact statement, her dad David Chapman said: “We have a very special bond.
“She was a proper family girl. She was the loveliest person you’d ever meet.
“Lisa was my girl. She’d help anybody. If she had a pound and somebody never had no money she’d either give them the pound or she’d share it with them.”
He also revealed the family could now lose their home following the tragedy.
David added: “They are going to take the house off them (the children). It’s spiteful. It’s wicked. It’s cruel.
“They have had the house for seven years. Everything they’ve got is in the house.”
Speaking after the hearing, investigating officer Detective Sergeant Faye Murphy, of Kent Police, said: “My thoughts are with Lisa’s family during what must have been and continues to be a very difficult time for them.
“This tragic incident should never have happened, and it goes to show that speeding and driving under the influence of drink and drugs, poses a serious risk to others.
“There is no excuse for his actions which have ruined many lives and I’m just pleased to see him jailed for what he did.”
