A POLICE chief facing a criminal probe over claims he lied about his military service was a registered pub landlord when he said he was in the Royal Navy.
Nick Adderley claimed he served for ten years before joining the police in 1992.

Contemporaries say Adderley was in the Navy for two years and also worked as a lorry driver and selling houses in a six-year stint as a civvy.
Adderley, 57, was suspended as Chief Constable of Northamptonshire Police after The Sun revealed he wore a Falklands War medal despite being 15 at the time of the conflict.
He claimed it was a gift from older brother Rick when he emigrated — yet Rick was pictured wearing it in Australia.
Adderley faces a criminal investigation into alleged fraud and separate disciplinary action over alleged gross misconduct.
Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Stephen Mold told BBC Radio Northampton: “This is uncertainty we could do without.
“I am hoping we got something sooner rather than later.”
