THE MET Office has issued urgent yellow warnings for dangerous ice and heavy rain – as the -11C big freeze continues.
A yellow ice warning which came into force for eastern Scotland at 3pm yesterday will stay in place until 11am this morning.

Wintry showers will soak coastal areas in the early hours, with puddles likely to freeze over.
Locals have been warned to look out for “icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths”.
Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Fife and Scottish Borders are all covered by the yellow ice warning.
A rain yellow warning has also been issued for most of Northern Ireland from 7pm tonight until 4am tomrorrow.
The Met Office said up to 30mm of rain could flood homes and businesses overnight.
And a whopping 80mm of rain could fall over the Mourne Mountains in County Down.
Surface water on roads will probably make journey times longer, with buses and trains also running late.
The mercury sank to a chilly -11C in the remote Scottish Highlands village of Altnaharra overnight.
Today will have a cold start with patchy freezing fog slow to clear in some places.
It will be mostly dry with sunny spells before the sky clouds over and the weather turns wet and windy.
Strong winds and coastal gales will push a band of heavy rain eastwards overnight.
Although a little milder, tomorrow will be dull with strong gusts and pulses of rain.
The weekend will be unsettled with more heavy showers, wind and rain.
