Guede from the Ivory Coast was convicted for the sexual assault and murder of Meredith Kercher in 2008.

Meredith, 21, from Coulsdon, Surrey was found half-naked with her throat cut in Perugia, Italy, in September 2007.

The killer was originally sentenced to 30 years in prison before it was reduced to 16 years.

He served 13 of those before being released on November 24, 2021.

Guede was originally set to be released from prison on January 4, 2022.

However, he was released 45 days early for good behaviour.

His latest arrest comes just six months after he became a free man as he has been charged with assaulting his 23-year-old ex-girlfriend.

A local prosecutor has now told him to wear an electronic tag and stay at least 500m away from his former partner.

Raffaele Sollecito – who was also on trial over the university student’s murder but found not guilty – said ‘it seems Guede has not changed’ after another horrific crime.
