A PREGNANT mum was “living in fear” before being stabbed five times on her own doorstep, a friend has claimed.
The 29-year-old victim is recovering from multiple knife wounds and her unborn baby boy survived the attack in the village of Aberfan, South Wales.

She was stabbed in the back in what police described as a “targeted” attack on her way home from the school run on Tuesday morning.
A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
The woman, who is 37 weeks pregnant, worked at a Home Bargains store and had gone on maternity leave just four days before the attack.
Colleague Leah Hull, 23, said: “She was afraid. She has no family here so one of her close friends from work is with her in hospital and giving us updates on how she is doing.”
Staff at the supermarket said the victim’s baby is due on December 22.
She started work at the Merthyr Tydfil branch of Home Bargains earlier this year and staff said she was “lovely”.
She worked for 20 hours-a-week which allowed her to take her two children to school every day.
The suspect was seen loitering outside a terraced home in Moy Road, Aberfan, at 8.30am on Tuesday.
South Wales Police confirmed the attacker was known to the victim, who had recently moved into the rented property.
The suspect was arrested by armed police at a house in the village of Troedyrhiw, two miles from the scene of the attack.
He had been on the run for six hours causing schools and public buildings to go into lockdown while he was at large.
A police cordon was still up at the scene of the stabbing and detectives are continuing to make house-to-house inquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Rob Miles said: “I appreciate there will be a real sense of shock within the local community with the attack having happened in broad daylight.
“I would like to reassure the public that we believe this to be a targeted attack.”
