BEAUTY fans scrambling for a £300 goody bag caused chaos at a new Boots store yesterday.

Hundreds swarmed the shop but only the first 200 were given tickets to swap for a bag.

The chaos outside the new Boots store at the redeveloped Battersea Power Station, as shoppers scramble to grab one of 200 goody bags worth £300

Shopper Lynne Johnson, 54, said: “There were a few people shoving and it looked like a fight had broken out.

“They were begging people on the tannoy to get into a queue but it was too late.

“I thought I was there early but people must have been waiting hours.”

The store at Battersea Power Station, South London, is Boots’ first dedicated beauty shop.

A spokesperson for Boots said: “The Boots Beauty store opened at Battersea Power Station yesterday morning to a queue of excited customers.

“As advertised, the first 200 people in the queue received a goody bag, this was managed by a ticketing system.

“Thank you to the customers who joined us to celebrate the launch today, we look forward to welcoming customers to our new concept beauty store.”

The decommissioned power station has become a go-to location for shoppers looking for luxury stores and boasts designer brands like Chanel, Calvin Klein and OMEGA.
