A PANTO song has been axed after vegans complained it was offensive.

Actors sang that the “A” in vegan stands for annoying or anaemic and the “G” stands for gassy.

A comedy song has been pulled from a Mother Goose panto after vegans complained it was inappropriate

A vegan schoolgirl in the audience said classmates had turned to bullying her by singing it.

Bosses have now removed the song from the Mother Goose panto.

The schoolgirl’s dad said: “It did seem unnecessary to have a whole song dedicated to spiteful jibes towards vegans.

“There is often a fine line between humour and bullying.”

Others complained online that similar songs would not be made about “religious minorities”.

But some responded: “For goodness sake get a life — it’s just comedy!”

The Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, Gloucs, said: “Our pantomime is constantly refined.”

The production runs until January 7.
