BRITS hit the town with bells and whistles on last night as they welcomed in the festive season.
The partygoers started celebrating Christmas early – and dressed the part, too.

The revellers donned festive sweaters, Mr and Mrs Clause outfits and Santa hats as they headed out last night.
The streets of Leeds, Swansea, Birmingham and Manchester were full of smiling faces as the groups started celebrating the Christmas break.
And those who weren’t in festive attire were still dolled up to the nines as they headed into pubs and nightclubs.
In Swansea, jolly women made their way through the streets with their arms around each other.
Dozens braved the cold but kept the festive cheer up with tinsel and reindeer headbands scattered throughout the crowds.
Many were dressed the same as their pals as they posed for photographers.
In Birmingham, the masses were sporting their best outfits – with just a few festive sweaters in sight.
But spirits were still high as the groups headed into their local for a drink.
In Manchester, elves and Santas made their way along the footpaths.
Most people were keeping warm with festive sweaters, fluffy red and white hats, and Christmas cracker crowns.
A bit further north in Leeds, one police officer even got into the jolly spirit – wearing a headband with snowmen on it.
Partygoers were dressed in sparkles and had a festive buzz on as they made their way to nab their next drink.
The groups all braved the icy weather, which is looking to stick around in the coming days.
Revellers heading out tonight have been warned the wintery conditions are setting in across the country.
The Met Office has issued a number of warnings for snow, ice, rain and wind – which are likely to linger into Christmas Day.
Forecasters warned the winter weather will likely start setting in today as Brits start preparing for their festive celebrations.
Four yellow warnings are in place across the country today, three are in place tomorrow, and one covers much of Scotland on December 25.
It comes as families travelling across the country on Christmas Eve are being told to brace for any last-minute changes due to Storm Pia battering down.
Rain warnings today cover the west coast of Wales and much of the west coast of Scotland north of Glasgow.
Forecasters have also placed snow and ice warnings on the north east coast of Scotland, and Shetland – seeing much of the north covered by warnings.
Tomorrow the rain warning remains over Wales, while wind warnings are in place for much of Scotland and east coast from Newcastle upon Tyne, down to Hull and inland to Manchester.
Met Office has kept the wind warning in Scotland in place until Christmas Day.
Scotland is also likely to have a white Christmas – but only in parts as they snow is looking to hit higher ground in the far north.
