Their bodies were discovered by their dad in December last year after he forced his way into the home, it is said.

Alexander appeared at the Old Bailey today via video-link wearing a t-shirt reading: “Love”.

The mum, who denies two counts of murder, was remanded into custody ahead of a planned trial on March 4.

The court heard the two children were last seen alive on CCTV footage with their mum on December 15.

Police were called at around 2pm the following day as Marley and Elijah’s dad was concerned for their welfare.

Prosecutor Philip Evans KC said previously: “He had gone into the house, having forced his way in, he was told the children were upstairs asleep.

“But when he went to find them he discovered they were obviously deceased and cold to the touch.

“He called 999 and an ambulance attended and found the children deceased.”

The court heard previously post mortem results have not been obtained but initial findings suggest the boys could have been smothered and drowned.
