A MAJOR search has been launched after a toddler was said to have fallen into a river this evening.
Water rescue teams and emergency services were raced to Leicestershire‘s River Soar around 5pm.

They’d received frantic calls that a boy, three, had fallen into the waterway.
Leicestershire Police were still at the scene on around 8.25pm.
The force said: “Police and emergency services are dealing with an incident near to Aylestone Road, Braunstone, following reports of a three-year-old child falling into the River Soar around 5pm today.
“All services are in attendance as the search for the child continues.
“Further updates will be given when appropriate.”
BBC reported cops said the search would not continue through the night, but would resume in the morning.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: “This is a police-led incident.
“We can confirm we were alerted at 17:05 and still have water rescue teams at the scene.”
Footage captured this evening showed police had taped off Braunstone Lane East, while a helicopter could also be seen flying overhead.
Fire crews could also be seen nearby.
