His back-to-back long range goals against Norwich and Rotherham this month have raised the 20-year-old’s profile.
Now he is understood to be on the Spanish champions’ summer wishlist.
According to Diario Sport, Barca are preparing a move for Asprilla as they look to fend off Premier League interest.
However, there are said to be concerns over the potential cost of the transfer.
Watford reportedly value Asprilla, who has two years left on his contract, at between £34million and £43million.
Asprilla wowed fans with a goal in the 4-2 defeat at Norwich earlier this month.
The forward picked up the ball on the right-hand side before cutting inside and lashing his shot into the top corner from around 30 yards.
He followed that goal up with another special strike to snatch victory against Rotherham on Saturday.

His powerful effort from the edge of the box rifled past Millers goalkeeper Viktor Johansson to claim all three points.
Asprilla joined Watford from Envigado in 2022 before returning to his former club on loan.
So far this season, he has scored six goals and provided five assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.
A senior international, Asprilla has one goal in three caps for Colombia since making his debut aged 18 two years ago.
