The eccentric Wright is yet to score a point in this season’s Premier League but showed his experience as he pushed Littler all the way.

The PDC then shared a video on X (formerly known as Twitter) of the two chatting backstage.

But the encounter between the two arrow-throwers did seem a little stilted.

The two can be heard chatting away about how the game finished before looking into the air with nothing to say.

After the silence, Wright reaches out a hand and says “good game”.

Littler then reached out to shake on the game before the two were then bundled into a lift with their entourages.

Littler could be seen clutching his phone once he got in the lift, which he has admitted is crucial in his preparation for big games.

Ahead of their match, Wright even threatened to steal Littler’s phone in order to gain an advantage in the tie.

Fans were quick to point out the awkwardness with one writing: “Doesn’t seem at all awkward.”

Another wrote: “You know the elevator was dead silent the entire way.”

A third wrote: “Bit awkward.”

Littler’s victory over Wright set up a semi-final against Michael van Gerwen, who is increasingly becoming his biggest rival in darts.

Van Gerwen’s experience showed again as he won a nail-biter 6-5 against Littler, but the signs are there to show the 17-year-old is getting closer to beat the man that is arguably the best in the world.
