Girl, 16, killed & 15-year-old boy seriously injured after car crash on A249 – as teen, 17, arrested

 A TEENAGE girl has been killed in a horror car crash which left a 15-year-old with serious injuries.

A white Toyota Hilux smashed into a road barrier and overturned in the horror in Maidstone, Kent on Saturday.

Paramedics rushed to the smash – which did not involve any other vehicles – but the girl, 16, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 15-year-old boy was rushed to a London hospital with serious injuries.

A 17-year-old – who was also taken to hospital with minor injuries – has been arrested on suspicion of causing by death by dangerous driving.

Kent Police have appealed for witnesses or for anyone with dashcam footage from the time of the smash.

No other vehicles were involved.

The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Enquiries are being led by Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) and officers are urging drivers with dashcam to check for any important footage.

They also want to speak to anyone who saw collision, or the Toyota in the moments leading up to it.
