THE Met Office is warning of snow today as frost hits – and it’s going to be cold all weekend.

Blustery showers and coastal gales could “turn wintry” in the north west today.

Cloud and rain will slowly clear in the south east, making way for frost and patchy fog.

More rain will arrive from the west tonight – with a chance of snowfall.

The Environment Agency has issued 37 “expected” flood warnings and 105 “possible” flood alerts throughout England.

There could be groundwater flooding in parts of the south and in the Malton area of North Yorkshire.

Flood warnings are also in force for Snowdonia, South Pembrokeshire, the River Thaw and parts of the Orkneys.

Tomorrow will also have a frosty start before the patchy fog clears quickly.

The rain and snow will spread eastwards, with scattered showers following behind.

Forecasters said the snow could turn heavy at times – and the weather will be windy and cold.

The weekend will see a mix of wintry showers and brighter spells across the UK.

There will be some chilly overnight frosts as the winds ease, before it turns wetter and windier on Monday.

But high pressure could bring some spring sunshine later on next week.

March will see a mix of rain spells and sunny intervals – with the mercury hovering around the annual average.
