Boy, two, died in hospital after suffering head injury as two women, 45 & 27, and man, 46, charged over ‘murder’

TWO women and a man have been charged over the alleged murder of a toddler.

Ethan Ives, two, was raced to hospital after suffering a head injury in Garden City, Wales in August 2021.

He tragically died there the following day.

Police last night said Kerry Ives, 45, Michael Ives, 46, Shannon Kayleigh Ives, 27, had been charged over the boy’s death.

An inquest in the days after Ethan died found he had suffered a head injury.

The Leader reported the two-year-old was rushed to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool on August 15.

He died there on August 16.

Kerry and Michael were yesterday was charged with murder; causing or allowing a child to suffer serious physical harm; and causing the assault, ill treatment, neglect, abandonment of a child to cause unnecessary injury, North Wales Police said.

Shannon has been charged with causing or allowing a child to suffer serious physical harm; and causing the assault, ill-treatment, neglect, abandonment of a child to cause unnecessary injury.

Kerry and Michael appeared in the Wrexham Magistrates yesterday afternoon and have been remanded in custody until tomorrow.

Shannon will appear next month.
