The Police Scotland officer was spotted around 1.35pm and she was caught on CCTV driving a black Renault car.

The motor has the registration YT19 FYP.

Colleagues said they are “very concerned for her welfare”.

Claire has been described as white, of slim build, with blonde hair.

She is thought to have been wearing dark coloured jogging bottoms, a dark jacket and pink trainers.

Claire’s worried partner Gary Thomson pleaded to the public for help in finding her.

In an emotional post on Facebook, he wrote that he is “worried sick” as he called on other users to share the urgent message.

Inspector Greg Hunter said: “We are appealing for anyone who recognises Claire and may have seen her or her vehicle in the Carluke area this afternoon to contact us.

“We are very concerned for her welfare and would want any information to be passed urgently to officers.

“If Claire herself sees this appeal, I would ask her to please get in touch with her family to let them know she is safe and well.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1746 of Tuesday, 12 March, 2024.
