The cop – attached to the Territorial Support Group on the North West Basic Command Unit – has been suspended from duty.

He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today charged with non-fatal strangulation and assault.

Abdalla, 26, was granted conditional bail to next appear at Harrow Crown Court on April 22.

The officer appeared on documentary The Met: Policing London in 2019.

He was filmed by the BBC as he went about his job as a response officer in Ealing.

Abdalla started working as a special constable when he was aged 18 after leaving a job in retail.

A probe by the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards continues with the woman now safeguarded.
