A FERRY captain was marched from his ship after being caught with an indecent image of a child.
Craig Henderson, 54, was the skipper of the Stena Super Fast VII which operated between Cairnryan and Belfast.
Craig Henderson was marched from the Stena Super VII after he was arrested in August 2022
He pleaded guilty at Stranraer Sheriff Court last month
He resigned from the role immediately after being caught with an indecent image of a child when police raided his home in Stranraer, Wigtownshire, on August 24, 2022.
Henderson, of Stranraer, pleaded guilty at Stranraer Sheriff Court last month to one charge of possession of a photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child covering a 13-year and four-month time period dating back to April 26, 2009.
He also admitted to the possession of an air rifle without a licence after officers found the weapon on the same raid.
Local sources have said that the former skipper was escorted from the boat and resigned on the same day he was arrested and charged, but it has taken 18 months for the case to be heard in court.
The insider told the Scottish Sun: “He immediately resigned from the company when it all kicked off. He was in the middle of his shift and was escorted by security from the ferry.”
Stena Line confirmed Henderson does not work for the firm anymore.
They added: “We do not have any comment to make on this matter.”
Henderson will return for sentencing on Wednesday, April 10.
