Horrifying moment Maryland’s Francis Scott Key Bridge collapses sending entire structure crashing into Patapsco River

DRAMATIC footage has captured the moment a bridge collapsed in Maryland.

The Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore crumpled into the river after it was hit by a container ship.

The bridge came down at around 1.30am local time on Tuesday.

The ship caught fire and smoke could be seen billowing from the vessel after it crashed, per WTOP.

Transport chiefs have said the bridge has been closed to traffic following an incident.
