Child dies after ‘medical emergency’ in Hemel Hempstead as woman, 29, arrested on suspicion of murder

A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a child died following a “medical emergency”.

The horror unfolded in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, on Sunday afternoon.

The child suffered a medical emergency in Juniper Square, Hemel Hempstead

A child was taken to hospital but sadly couldn’t be saved and died shortly after.

Police confirmed a 29-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.

A probe by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit is now underway.

No further details on the child’s age have been released by cops.

Hertfordshire Police said: “Officers were called to an address in Juniper Square in Hemel Hempstead at 4.40pm yesterday (Sunday 14 April) to assist with a medical emergency.

“A child was taken to hospital for emergency treatment but unfortunately died a short time later.”
