AT LEAST seven people have been killed and 21 injured as a rally car ploughed into a crowd after a massive crash on track.
Fans and track marshalls were killed when one of the speeding racecars hurtled off the course at the Fox Hill Super Cross 2024 event in Sri Lanka.
One of the dead is reported to be a little girl, 8.
And some of the injured are understood to be fighting for their lives.
Photos and videos show the horrific aftermath as ambulances were driven onto the track to help the victims.
People can be seen desperately trying to administer first aid as the dead and wounded lay scattered on the racetrack.
More than 100,000 spectators had gathered to watch the race which was held in Diyatalawa.
One of the cars lost control after hitting one of the earth embankments on the dirt track.
The vehicle then ploughed into the gathered crowds who stood right on the edge of the course.
Footage taken from moments before the crash shows one of the racecars flipped on its roof.
The person behind the camera is then knocked to the ground as a second car appears to crash into the screaming fans.
Other footage then shows spectators bravely rushing onto the circuit as a second rally car sits on its side.
The race is organised by the Sri Lankan military – which has a base opposite the Fox Hill track.
