The car had smashed into the back of an enormous truck on a busy China motorway

Heartbreaking footage shows desperate motorists trying to break the family out as the front of the car goes up in flames.

The car, wrecked on a busy highway in Yuncheng, northern China, appeared to have smashed head-on into a truck.

A firefighter and bystander could be seen reaching into the back window after trying to smash open the door before the explosion hit.

The motor was reportedly travelling at 115km per hour at the time of the smash.

Local authorities are now investigating the incident along with the electric car manufacturer.

The little boy, his dad and the dad’s brother-in-law all died in the horrific accident.

His mum has raised concerns that the automatic emergency braking systems malfunctioned during the crash, Shine reports.

One of the motorists who rushed to help could be seen reaching into the car through the smashed video, but was unable to pull out whoever he was reaching for.

The family had bought the Huawei Aito M7 just three months before the horror smash.

Aito Automobile is a new car brand launched in 2022 and its M7 model comes with an autonomous driving system.

It is supposed to allow the driver to navigate through busy urban roads and motorways without relying on a map.

The company released data from the car ahead of the accident and said the airbags deployed as they should and the battery pack readings were normal too.

It is cooperating with cops on the investigation.

The tragic accident, which happened on Friday, took place in the northern Yuncheng region of Shanxi.

Huawei partners with Aito, providing tech for its vehicles and helping with manufacturing.
