Woman dies after fire at block of flats with probe launched into mystery blaze

A WOMAN has tragically died after a fire broke out at a block of flats.

Around 30 firefighters scrambled to the address in Pimlico, Westminster, on Sunday night when intense flames swallowed the property.

Chilling photos from the scene show thick black soot marks on the outside of the building.

Other windows – seemingly in the flat that went up in flames – are covered with blue tarpaulin.

Met Police said: “Officers responded with London Ambulance Service paramedics and the London Fire Brigade.

“One woman – no further details – was found deceased.

“Police are working to confirm her identity and inform next of kin.

“The cause of the fire is currently unknown and will be investigated with the London Fire Brigade.”
