TONY MOWBRAY has quit his post as Birmingham manager after undergoing a “significant and unexpected” surgery.
Mowbray, 60, only joined Brum in January following Wayne Rooney’s sacking.

He took charged of eight games, winning four as the Midlanders looked to recover from Wazza’s dismal spell.
But Mowbray shocked Birmingham chiefs when just a month after his arrival, he was forced to temporarily step down due to health issues.
He then took a formal medical leave of absence in March as Mark Venus stepped in.
Gary Rowett later returned to see out the season, but was unable to prevent Brum from being relegated to League One.
