Leaders or senior representatives from the Tories, Labour, Reform, Lib Dems, the Greens, SNP and Plaid Cymru will all take part.

Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer are both yet to confirm that they will be the ones representing their parties on the night.

The 90 minute showdown will be moderated by Julie Etchingham, who also helmed ITV election debates in 2015, 2017 and 2019.

Michael Jermey, ITV’s Director of News and Current Affairs, said, “ITV’s debate programmes will allow millions of viewers to see and hear the politicians debate the big issues facing the country.

“Many of our viewers tell us they greatly value the TV debates. We’re pleased that ITV will be able to provide a forum in which voters can question the political leaders and in which the politicians can debate directly with each other.”

Rishi & Keir’s first live debate revealed – as PM & Labour leader go head-to-head

News of the mega debate comes as ITV are set to host the first direct televised battle between Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer next week.

The hour-long debate between the PM and the Labour leader will air on ITV at 9pm next Tuesday, June 4.

Veteran debate host Etchingham will also host moderate the live clash in front of a studio audience.

It comes after a top bookie yesterday pledged to eat his hat live on TV if Labour doesn’t win 400 seats at the election.

Will Woodhams, CEO of Fitzdares, revealed that punters are flocking to place bets on a mega Labour victory.

He appeared on our brand new election show hosted by political editor Harry Cole, that you can watch EVERY weekday at thesun.co.uk or on our YouTube channel here.

He said: “I’d eat my hat if Labour doesn’t hit the 400 mark”.

The latest polls shows Sir Keir Starmer‘s party leading the Tories by 27 points.

A YouGov survey this week found 47 per cent of Brits are backing Labour, while just 20 per cent support the Tories and 12 per cent are vying for Reform.

Mr Woodhams said Brits are rapidly rolling the dice on the Tories only bagging between 150 – 200 constituencies.

That would mean a loss of at least 145 seats for Rishi Sunak and a gain of 194 for Sir Keir.

Fitzdares recently had to REJECT an eye-popping bet on the figure after deciding the price was wrong.

A punter wanted to place £200,000 on the estimate.

And another wanted to follow through with a £100,000 gamble.

But the firm will take bets on the estimate at evens.

Reflecting on the state of play, Mr Woodhams said: “This is an epoch making election.

“It’s up there with 1983 and 1997. That’s why it’s fascinating to us.”
