A FACTION of right-wing Tory MPs last night unveiled a manifesto wish-list to cut taxes, slash immigration and quit the European Court of Human Rights.

The New Conservatives caucus of 2019ers produced five demands for Rishi Sunak to adopt heading into the election.

Railing against soaring migration, Tory MP Tom Hunt, said: “It is not xenophobic to – when you walk into your town centre – to not want to feel like you’re living in a foreign country.”

Ex-party chairman Jake Berry vowed to vote against any more tax rises and said Tory bosses would not dare expel would-be rebels because it would wipe out their majority.

Former Cabinet Ministers Dame Priti Patel, Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg and Sir John Redwood all made speeches.

Setting out the group’s stall, Tory MP and co-founder Miriam Cates suggested ministers had squandered the 80-seat majority won in 2019.

She said: “The intent in 2019 was to take back control of our country.

“We have heard today that so far we have been unable to fully free ourselves from the shackles of European law and Blairite law.

“We’ve seen taxes and immigration rise to unsustainable levels and our children spend longer than ever in education emerging with debt, less skilled and indoctrinated in destructive ideas.

“There is a deep seated frustration, which we have to admit is reflected in the polls.”
