A HORRIFIED mum told how her son was “almost strangled” in his sleep by a Tesco pillowcase.
Mary Anderson, 37, said she was in a panic when she found the pom-pom trim had unravelled “like a rope” around six-year-old Carter’s neck.

The self-employed mother of four shook him awake and unwound the grey material before alerting the superstore in her hometown of Cumbernauld.
She told The Scottish Sun: “I don’t know how the hell it unravelled during the night — it must have been faulty.
“I got a terrible fright when I saw it round his neck and immediately took it off.
“If he’d fallen off the bed it could easily have strangled him.
“He woke up to us grabbing him and making sure he was okay.”
Shaken Mary had just changed her bedcovers to the supermarket’s £30 pom-pom trim duvet set when the scare happened.
She had put the schoolboy in her bed so his dad Malcolm, 41, could look after him after the lad had complained of being unwell.
But when the couple woke next morning, she discovered the trim around Carter’s neck.
Mary said: “He was restless because he was burning up and wriggling around.
“Malcolm pulled on it to see how strong it was and it strong. We’re so lucky. We wouldn’t want this happening to another child or family.
We only bought it because it caught our eye with the Clubcard deal.
“It’s made me paranoid to put my son into bed with any sort of design on the bedding.”
Tesco apologised and said a probe was under way.
A spokesman said: “We take health and safety very seriously and all our bedding products are tested to relevant quality and safety standards.
“We are sorry to hear about this and now that the customer has returned the product to the store, we will be investigating what happened with our supplier.”
