One new face has been spotted as former player Van Nistelrooy has started his new job at the club.

The Dutchman has joined Erik ten Hag’s coaching staff after a year hiatus from football.

He was pictured arriving at the club’s Carrington training ground.

Goalkeeper Andre Onana was also pictured arriving back for training.

Marcus Rashford has also reported for duty, having not been taken to Euro 2024 by Gareth Southgate.

The forward was snubbed for the final squad for the tournament after a poor season.

Jadon Sancho is expected to arrive for training following the end of his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.

The winger was exiled by Ten Hag last season after a public fallout in which he felt he had been scapegoated by the manager.

Sancho left the club on a temporary deal in January, and his long-term future has yet to be decided.

Ten Hag will also be returning after the club decided to keep him as the manager.

It had been thought that he could be sacked after a disastrous season, but winning the FA Cup gave him another chance.

The manager has an option in his contract triggered for an extra season which will run until 2026.

It will be the first full season under the new regime, which is headed up by Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

The British billionaire has employed Sir David Brailsford as well as a new sporting director in Dan Ashworth, CEO Omar Berrada and technical director Jason Wilcox.

The hope is that the restructured backroom staff will help guide the club back to the top in its new era.
