CHARLIE SAVAGE has been backed to copy his dad Robbie and get back to the top after leaving Manchester United.
Wales boss Robert Page has called Savage Jr, 20, into his senior squad for the first time for next Wednesday’s friendly against Gibraltar in Wrexham.

Uncapped Savage quit Old Trafford for League One side Reading on a free transfer in the summer.
But Page reckons the promising midfielder can follow in the footsteps of his old man.
Savage Sr, 48, was released by United and joined Crewe.
Then he worked his way back to the top-flight with spells at Premier League clubs Leicester, Birmingham, Blackburn and Derby as well as winning 39 Wales caps.
Page said: “Look at what Rob went through when he left Manchester United years ago to get a career for himself by going to Crewe.
“It’s no different for Charlie. I’ve been in contact with him over the last few months.
“I said that he needs to go out now and play competitive football if he wants to get a career and to play international football.
“He’s taken that advice on board. He’s gone out to Reading, he’s playing and scoring goals.

“He was on standby for us in September. The next step in his development is exposing him to it and giving him this opportunity. He has deserved it.”
Charlie’s dad, now a TV pundit for the BBC and TNT Sports, posted on social media: “So, so proud … hard work, dedication and sacrifices are paying off.”
And Savage Sr has been keeping Page updated with his son’s progress at the Royals.
He will return to the U21s with Matty Jones’ men after the friendly at the Racecourse Ground.
When asked if his ex-Wales team-mate had been in contact, Page quipped: “Numerous times! I can’t get him off the phone. I’ve had to tell him, ‘Stop texting me!’
“I know he’s doing okay. You know what Rob is like – he’s very enthusiastic and keen. But Charlie can take care of himself, I know that.”
