POLICE have sealed off a busy city centre street amid a massive ongoing emergency incident.

Police and ambulance crews focus on a black car on Wellington Lane
The alarm was raised at around 2.40pm with crews scrambling to the city’s Waterloo Street.
Shortly after they arrived, police locked down Wellington Lane.
A large ambulance vehicle is sitting on the corner of the road while a police car is parked on the pavement on the opposite side.
An eyewitness said: “I’ve heard someone was run over in the lane.”
Locals looked on in horror as the busy city street was closed off.
Workers stared down at the scene from their office windows as dozens of emergency vehicles flooded the street.
Uniformed cops standing guard told locals they couldn’t access their work.
One onlooker said: “I’ve not seen this many cops in the city for a long time. Something serious has definitely happened.
“It looks like it might be something tragic might have happened.”
Photos from the scene show at least half a dozen police cars, two huge fire engines and two ambulance vans on the street.
Firefighters have also been spotted standing in front of one of the entrances to the pub.
While a large number of officers have been seen standing on the other side of the road.
Detectives and CID officers have also arrived at the scene this afternoon.
Police and ambulance crews have focussed their efforts on a black car on Wellington Lane.
Blue tape has sealed off the area, blocking the public from accessing the street where the lane is.
The lane itself is also sealed off with two armed officers spotted swarming the entrance to it.
Collision investigation teams have also arrived at around 3.45pm.
Cops are currently standing guard at the scene.

These block off a whole street and stop people from being able to see down the street.
The full details of the incident are currently unknown.
Police urged locals to avoid the area and use an alternative route.
A statement shared by Police Scotland Greater Glasgow said: “Road closures are in place on Wellington Street between Cadogan Street and Waterloo Street, and Wellington Lane is closed between West Campbell Street and Wellington Street due to an incident that police were called to around 2.40pm.
“Please use an alternative route.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 14:39 to attend an incident on Wellington Lane, Glasgow.
“An ambulance, paramedic response unit and a trauma team were dispatched to the scene.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We are currently in attendance alongside emergency service partners at an incident on Wellington Lane, Glasgow.”
