MORE bedbugs have been spotted on public transport in London as commuters refuse to sit down during invasion fears.
Small insects are now being found on trains and buses in different parts of the country, while one council says it’s picked up an “alarming” number of calls about infestations.

In recent days a woman posted a photo of what was thought to be a bedbug on a Tube in the capital.
Others have now taken to TikTok with skin-crawling clips of bugs on other Underground lines and buses.
And Brits are racing to social media to reveal they won’t sit down on their daily commutes out of fear they’ll take a bedbug home with them.
People are claiming in videos on TikTok that they’re standing for their long travels so they don’t have to sit on the seats.
One woman wrote: “Standing for your hour-long commute because you don’t want bedbugs.”
Londoners claim they’ve come across the creepy crawlies on the Victoria, Northern and Central lines.
But others say they’ve come across the bugs on the capital’s famous red buses, too.
Yesterday a small insect was seen crawling on a bus window in Manchester.
A photo of what is said to be a bedbug on the bus was uploaded to X with the caption: “Do something about this quickly.”
FirstBus, who operates the public transport service, replied: “This is really concerning to see, and we do apologise for this.”
The firm then tried to identify what bus the insect had been seen on.
A Bedfordshire council also today said it had got an “alarming number” of calls about the insects.
Luton Council said: “The pest control service is currently receiving an alarming number of bed bug jobs on a weekly basis.
“Successful treatment can be a lengthy process and the council does not have limitless resources to counter this pest.”
It comes after an outbreak in Paris, where fears are growing around “super bed bugs” running rampant.
MailOnline reported Sadiq Khan yesterday said: “This is a real source of concern. People are worried about these bugs in Paris causing a problem in London.
“I want to reassure those listening that TfL has the best regimes to clean our assets on a nightly basis.
“We are speaking to our friends in Paris to see if there are any lessons to be learnt but for a variety of reasons we don’t think those issues will arise in London; but there is no complacency from TfL.”
Airlines and hotels across the UK are bracing for an invasion of “super-bed bugs” from Paris.

What are bed bugs?
Bed bugs are small insects from the genus Climex that often live on furniture or bedding and feed on blood.
Their bites can be itchy and lead to skin rashes, but do not usually cause serious health problems.
Although they aren’t dangerous, they can cause extreme discomfort and stress if you are bitten by them.
Baby bed bugs, which are known as nymphs, shed their skin five times before reaching adulthood and need a blood meal before every shedding.
