TRAVEL chaos has been sparked by a blaze at Luton Airport as the terminal is evacuated and all flights are suspended.

Terrified bystanders are watching on as flames tear through a multi-storey car park at one of London’s busiest sites for holidaymakers to jet off from.

According to a witness, 12 cars are up in flames

Emergency services have rushed to Car Park 2 after it’s believed the inferno was sparked when a car caught alight.

According to a witness, 12 cars are up in flames.

Thick pummels of black smoke and sounds of explosions are coming from what appears to be the third level as car alarms are being set off.

Bystanders have reported an intense orange glow and heat escaping the car park.

Multiple fire crews and police officers are at the scene as they battle to extinguish the fire.

No transport is heading in our out of the terminals and passengers are being evacuated, according to reports.

It’s understood all airport buses and vehicles are “trapped” as the road running alongside Car Park 2 is blocked off.

Luton Airport said: “All flights are currently suspended as emergency services respond to a fire in Terminal Car Park 2.

“Access to the airport is currently restricted and we ask that people do not travel to the airport at this time.”
