Police officers and firefighters rushed to the Ozoir-la-Ferrière train station at around 8am this morning after they were called about the axe rampage.
Four of the victims are believed to have been taken to hospital with two suffering from critical injuries.
One person had his hand severed off, a police source told local media.
They also confirmed that an individual was discovered with his skull cut open from what looked like a serious axe wound.
Reda Belhaj, spokesperson for the Île-de-France police union UN1TE, told BFMTV that the victims are “extremely young individuals”.
Cops quickly launched a extensive search for the people responsible for the attack and believe multiple attackers are still on the run.
Train operators RER E took to X to announce the terrifying ordeal earlier today.
They said: “An incident on board the TUVA train currently at the platform at Ozoir station is forcing us to keep the train at the platform.
“Waiting for police intervention.”
Trains were cancelled going through Ozoir-la-Ferrière for some time with lines now said to be reopened despite cops being stationed around the area.
The reasons for the rampage is still unknown.
It comes as a separate incident in Europe saw a teenage knifeman attack seven people in a bloody live-streamed rampage in Turkey, back in August.
The suspect, believed to be wearing Nazi-related clothing, filmed himself stabbing the terrified victims near a mosque before he was tackled to the ground by local residents.
The crazed 18-year-old suspect was also carrying an axe when he stormed through the streets of Eskişehir.
