SIR CHRIS HOY admits he’s been overwhelmed by the messages of support he’s had since revealing that he has terminal cancer.
The Scottish Olympic cycling hero has given his first major TV interview since announcing two weeks ago that his prostate cancer was terminal.

It will be aired on the BBC tonight and the 48-year-old has opened up on the response he’s had since breaking the news.
In addition to the fact that there’s been a remarkable EIGHT times increase in searches for prostate cancer symptoms, the Scot has revealed that he’s had a phone call from Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin and inspirational voice notes from the likes of Andy Murray and David Beckham since making the revelation.
Hoy said: “It’s very emotional replying to all the messages that come in. People you haven’t spoken to since you were at school.
“Years and years. People from cycling.
“People you’ve worked with. David Beckham has messaged on Instagram.
“Chris Martin has phoned. Andy Murray sent me the most incredible voice note.
“What an amazing man Andy is, what a thoughtful kind gentleman.
“People talk about battels. But for me the biggest battle is between your ears.”
Emotional as it is to reply to his grown up friends, the hardest part was telling his kids Callum and Chloe, aged nine and six at the time.
It was also revealed recently that Hoy’s wife Sarra is suffering from MS.
Hoy said: “That was the first thought in my head.
“How on earth are we going to tell the kids? It’s just this absolute horror, it is a waking nightmare, living nightmare.
“We just tried to be positive and tried to say do you know what, this is what we’re doing and you can help because when I’m not feeling well, you can come and give me cuddles, you can be supportive, you can be happy, you can be kind to each other.
“I’m sure lots of families do it in different ways and I think there’s no one right approach for anyone.
There’s no one-size-fits-all, but for us I think that was the best way to do it.”
