Firefighters have been called in to help with the recount in the crucial swing state both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris will be desperate to win.

There is no estimate for how long the delay for the recount will be.

The votes were recounted “out of an abundance of caution,” said Melissa Howard, spokesperson for the Milwaukee Election Commission.

She added that there was no reason to believe any of the ballots already counted had been tampered with.

Howard said the ballots were being recounted to ensure the process was “completely, fully transparent.”

It follows further voter chaos after multiple precincts in Massachusetts reportedly ran out of ballots.

The group Lawyers for Civil Rights warned that precincts in Boston were waiting for new ballots.

In some locations, ballots were replenished, but only after wait times of up to two hours.

It follows a series of bomb threats at polling places which have brought delays to vote counting in counties across the country.

In DeKalb County, Georgia, a judge ordered precincts to extend voting hours following threats which caused disruptions in the deeply blue county.

A bomb threat in Center County, Pennsylvania also led to an evacuation of a polling building, holding up the recount in the crucial swing state.

It comes as…
