WORLD leaders have rushed to praise Donald Trump as he celebrates his election victory.
With the Republicans being a hairsbreadth away from hitting the 270 electoral votes needed to win, leaders are congratulating the 78-year-old and attempting to start his leadership on a positive note.

This is especially key as Trump has vowed to enforce new tariffs impacting global trade as well as his proposed actions regarding foreign affairs including bringing a close to the war in Ukraine.
President Zelensky took to X to congratulate Trump “on his impressive election victory” before reminding him of his former discussions with Ukrainian leaders about ending Russian aggression.
“I recall our great meeting with President Trump back in September when we discussed in detail the Ukraine-U.S. strategic partnership, the Victory Plan, and ways to put an end to Russian aggression against Ukraine,” the President of Ukraine wrote.
“I appreciate President Trump’s commitment to the ‘peace through strength’ approach in global affairs.
“This is exactly the principle that can practically bring just peace in Ukraine closer. I am hopeful that we will put it into action together.

Donald Trump took to the stage in Florida to celebrate his election as the 47th President of the United States.
JD Vance said the victory is the “greatest political comeback in American history.”
Kamala Harris refused to speak to the media as Trump took the lead.
Harris’ team said the Vice President will speak on Wednesday.
Trump won battleground states Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, according to the AP.
Trump’s team started to celebrate early with a chant when he won North Carolina.
Republicans took control of the Senate after Ted Cruz was re-elected in Texas.
Firefighters were forced to help recount 30,000 votes when polls faced election night chaos.

Zelenskyy will be working hard to curry favour with the incoming president of the US after criticism from Americans about the amount of money going to Ukraine in the form of aid.
He will also be concerned about claims from Kamala Harris that Trump will simply try to appease Russia after he vowed to end the war before inauguration day.
‘GREATEST COMEBACK’
Meanwhile, Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of the UK has also joined other leaders in congratulating Trump as he too tries to sweeten the American leader amid a tense US-UK relationship.
“Congratulations President-elect @realDonaldTrump on your historic election victory,” Starmer wrote on X.
“I look forward to working with you in the years ahead.
“As the closest of allies, we stand shoulder to shoulder in defence of our shared values of freedom, democracy, and enterprise.
“From growth and security to innovation and tech, I know that the UK-US special relationship will continue to prosper on both sides of the Atlantic for years to come.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Trump’s win “history‘s greatest comeback” as he hopes to strengthen the alliance between the US and Israel amid the ongoing war in the Middle East.
“Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America,” he wrote.
“This is a huge victory!”
In France, President Emmanuel Macron pushed for the continued collaboration between himself and Trump for “more peace and prosperity.”
“Congratulations, President @realDonaldTrump. Ready to work together as we did for four years,” Macron said.
“With your convictions and mine. With respect and ambition. For more peace and prosperity.”
Similarly, the Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has vowed that together, he and Trump can “ensure the partnership between our nations and peoples remains strong into the future.”
“Australians and Americans are great friends and true allies,” he added.
Meanwhile, Viktor Orban, the Prime Minister of Hungary has hailed Trump’s win as “the biggest comeback in US political history” and as something that was “much needed for the world.”
