He was in good spirits despite his defeat

O’Sullivan is now deciding whether he will feature at the next two tournaments

The even contest was level at 4-4 before Pang hit two incredible centuries to seal one of the biggest victories of his career.

O’Sullivan beat Mink Nutcharut and He Guoqiang to reach the last 32 in Nanjing, China.

After his defeat he took to social media where he shared some snaps of his most recent run, holding his thumbs up.

He wrote in the caption: “Out and about in Nanjing.

“Disappointed to be out obviously but I’m feeling good ”

O’Sullivan, 48, survived a big scare in his opening match as Mink Nutcharut threatened to become the first woman to beat him in his 32-year career.

But he prevailed 6-3 eventually before a very classy gesture to the Thai superstar at the end.

Ronnie then beat He Guoqiang in the last 64 to book his third-round clash with Pang.

But he is now undecided over whether he will feature in the next two tournaments – he Champion of Champions next week in Bolton and then the UK Championship.

O’Sullivan said: “I will see. I will spend a few days here in China. I’ve got a bit more stuff to do.

“I don’t know, I always make my mind up a day before a tournament whether I am going to play or not. I don’t even know what I’m doing.

“Listen, ever since I have been playing the game, I always make my mind up the day before the event. If you feel good, you want to play, you are ready – then you play.

“If you are not ready, you don’t play. So hopefully I am ready to play. That’s all.

“I enjoy my trips to China. I do my work. It’s my job at the end of the day. I have a lot of commitments with things. I play as much snooker as I feel I can.

“Pang played good. Deserved this win. He’s an in-form player.”
