Fellow students and parents were notified in a letter today by headteacher Stephen Jones.
He sent his condolences to Zac’s family.
The letter read: “I am writing to inform you that your child’s form tutor has had the sad task of informing the class of the sudden death of a pupil in year nine – Zac Trevett.
“When someone dies, it is normal for their friends and family to experience a range of different feelings like sadness, anger and confusion.
“The pupils have been advised that staff are available to support them should the need arise and I will also place guidance information relating to grief and bereavement on the school website.
“Our thoughts and prayers are very much with Zac’s family at this sad time.”
Pupils in his year group are being offered bereavement support following the tragedy.
