A DEADLY house fire that caused a man and woman’s death was sparked by an exploding e-bike battery, cops say.

Two people were tragically found dead inside the property, the Coventry Telegraph reports.
West Midlands Police said investigators determined that the “accidental” fire had been sparked by the battery pack of an e-bike which was charging in a hallway.
They said in a statement today: “We have been working alongside West Midlands Fire Service to investigate the fire on The Coppice on Friday (November 8).
“Investigators have now confirmed the cause of the fire was accidental and caused by the battery pack of an e-bike on charge.
“Our thoughts remain with the man and woman who died, and we will now both assist the coroner with their enquiries.”
A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: “No further information relating to the cause or the victims who sadly lost their lives in this tragic accident will be released at this time. Our thoughts remain with everyone affected by this tragic accident.”
