THREE men have been arrested after Glasgow’s Buchanan Bus Station and Caledonian University were evacuated over a bomb scare.
It comes as cops extended a cordon around the busy transport hub, which was closed from 1pm today.

The three were arrested on alleged weapons charges.
The extra safety measures were put into force after a bomb squad robot was sent in to probe a suspicious package.
EOD crews carried out a controlled explosion in the area at around 8:30pm.
An eyewitness said: “We were told to take cover behind the cordon. It lasted around 30 seconds and there was a small pop. Most people had cleared the scene by then.”
Emergency services locked down the surrounding area to traffic and pedestrians.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.10pm this afternoon, police received a report of a potential suspicious item at the bus station. Officers contacted the EOD and a controlled explosion was carried out. Nothing suspicious was found.
“As a precaution the bus station and surrounding buildings were evacuated.
“Three men were arrested in connection with alleged possession of offensive weapons and enquiries are ongoing.
“Officers are working to return the area back to normal.”
Nearby Glasgow Caledonian University issued a notice for staff and students to evacuate the campus “as a precaution”.
The university later re-opened around 10:20pm, and will be fully operational from 7am tomorrow.
Bosses say all scheduled classes, meetings and services will resume as normal.
But commuters are warned there may still be some travel disruption for those using Buchanan Bus Station.
Bosses expect Cowcaddens Road to be fully re-opened by tomorrow morning.
Meanwhile, in a statement posted on social media, an SPT spokesperson said: “Apologies all, Buchanan Bus Station is currently closed to passengers while police deal with an emergency incident.
“There is no access to the station for passengers and no buses are entering or leaving the station.
“For information on the impact on specific bus services, passengers should check with the relevant bus operator and expect disruptions to travel.
“We will update you when station reopens.
“Apologies for the inconvenience.”
Tonight, no trains were allowed into and out of Glasgow Queen Street High Level as emergency crews dealt with an “incident”.
ScotRail said on X: “Emergency services are dealing with an incident near to Glasgow Queen Street station. Until the police deem it safe to run trains again, no trains will run into and out of Glasgow Queen Street High Level.”
Meanwhile, an email sent to all Glasgow Caledonian Uni students read: “Due to an ongoing police incident in Buchanan Street Bus Station, which is contained, we’ve been requested to evacuate campus immediately as a precaution.
“Please take your personal belongings with you.
“There is no access to Cowcaddens Road.
“Staff and students must leave via North Hanover Street, Dobbie’s Loan or Milton Street.

“There is no vehicle access from campus to Cowcaddens Road.
“We will provide further updates at the earliest opportunity.”
