The Foxes are in the market for a new first team manager having parted company with Steve Cooper over the weekend.

Saturday’s 2-1 defeat by Chelsea, inflicted by Cooper’s predecessor Enzo Maresca, left the Foxes 16th in the Premier League and a single point above the relegation zone.

Though outside of the drop zone, reports suggest the Leicester hierarchy were concerned their performances would not be good enough to retain their top-flight status.

A club statement read: “Assistant Manager Alan Tate and First Team Coach and Analyst Steve Rands have also left the Club. Steve, Alan and Steve depart with our thanks for their contribution during their time with the Club and with our best wishes for the future.

“Men’s First Team training will be overseen by First Team Coach Ben Dawson, supported by coaches Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes, as the Club begins the process of appointing a new manager, which we hope to conclude as soon as possible.”

But who is next in line for the position, and will they be installed before next weekend’s clash with Brentford?

Graham Potter is high on Leicester’s shortlist of managerial candidates having previously been the first-choice option to replace Maresca over the summer.

He has, however, been out of management since leaving Chelsea in March 2023 and reports suggest that he’ll need convincing to take on the project.

David Moyes is next at 15/8. The Scottish coach remains a free agent having departed West Ham over the summer and is reportedly being evaluated by Leicester’s top tier.

Ruud van Nistelrooy is another name on Leicester’s shortlist. He’s offered at 10/3 following his brief but successful four-game stint at Manchester United.

Elsewhere at bigger prices are Mark Robins at 12/1, ahead of 20/1 duo Carlos Corberan and Lee Carsley with Liam Rosenior, Esteban Cambiasso, Michael Carrick and Edin Terzic all offered at 25s.
