DONALD Trump has called upon longtime war hero pal Keith Kellogg to help him finally end the Ukraine war.
Ex-Lieutenant General Kellogg, 80, has been appointed as special envoy for Ukraine and Russia by Trump with the military ace expected to lead peace negotiations in 2025.

General Kellogg is a decorated US war veteran and dad-of-three who served his country for 36 years before going into politics.
His main military service saw him rise through the ranks during the Vietnam War, work closely with the Pentagon during the 9/11 terror attack and give support to the US in Iraq.
Kellogg earned himself a hero status with the American people during the deadly Vietnam War when he bravely attacked the enemy on his own.
A brutal air assault saw several men from Lieutenant Kellogg’s 101st Airborne Division badly wounded and left for dead.
Brave Kellogg stepped up to protect his fellow countrymen and launched his own assault back on the enemies bunker system.
Navigating through the gunfire with a machine gun and grenades in his hand, Kellogg destroyed five bunkers in the valiant solo mission.
His actions earned him a Silver Star medal and kick started his rise through the US military ranks.
President-elect Trump announced he is bringing in the experienced expert to his cabinet with a powerful statement.
He praised Kellogg’s “distinguished military and business career” and commented on how crucial their relationship was in his first term.
Kellogg was a chief of staff on the Republican’s highly sensitive National Security role when Trump first took power.
Responding to the nomination, Kellogg said: “I am honored by @realDonaldTrump’s appointment to serve as Assistant to the President and Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia.
“It was the privilege of my life working for President Trump, and I look forward to working tirelessly to secure peace through strength while upholding America’s interests.
“I am ready with the commitment and dedication it deserves.”
Under Joe Biden’s leadership there hasn’t been a special envoy for the European conflict but Trump has consistently talked about creating the role.
The Republican pair of Trump and Kellogg have reportedly stayed in contact over the past four years.
The retired military man has even spoken to Trump about his thoughts on bringing peace between Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky.
It comes after Kellogg told Fox News the world is “on the precipice of World War Three”.
He recently said: “When you look at what’s happening with an alliance that President Trump kept apart.
“You know, he had North Korea over here, he had China over here, he had Iran here and Russia over here.
“What you’ve seen now is they’ve all joined. You’ve got an axis together, and they’re feeding off one another.”

Kellogg hopes his plan for ending the war will convince Putin to back off with his ambitions to regain Soviet territory.
He met with Trump back in July to speak on the peace proposal and said it involves pushing Ukraine towards the negotiating table with promises of more US weapons.
The US would also then warn Russia that it will drastically ramp up support for Kyiv if they refused to negotiate.
Since the proposal was drawn up, Ukraine was granted permission by doddery Joe Biden to use long-range US-supplied missiles.
The use of the ATACMS weapons were seen as a drastic escalation of war by the Kremlin as Putin fired up the threat of nuclear retaliation.
This means that Kellogg’s straightforward plan to end the war through the threat of weapons to both sides has been severely rocked by the outgoing Biden.

The plan also mentioned freezing battle lines at their prevailing locations and allowing Putin to keep what he has stolen.
Both sides have constantly rejected any sort of similar deal.
Kellogg is expected to speak to both Kyiv and Moscow when Trump enters The White House in January as he searches for solutions.
Trump has put his full faith in the ex-general after the future president previously vowed to stop the bloodshed in Ukraine within days of re-entering office.
America and much of the world are hoping to create a “long-term security architecture” in Ukraine to help aid their future defence.
Trump has already laid out his personal war plan to bring peace to Europe amid rising tensions within Nato.
His plan sees a demilitarised zone down the locked front line as well as Kyiv agreeing not to join the anti-Russia organisation for 20 years.
In exchange, the US would continue to arm Ukraine to the teeth to prevent Putin from invading again.
But the US would not send troops to enforce the buffer zone nor finance the mission.
Putin is ready to discuss a Ukrainian ceasefire deal with the US, sources claim.
But the Russian tyrant is understood to have a list of heavy demands – including Kyiv abandoning its plan to join Nato.
Kellogg’s formidable war record
KEITH Kellogg first joined the US military in 1967 and went on to have a stellar 36-year career as a top officer.
His first taste of conflict saw him deployed in the Vietnam War as part of the 101st Airborne Division.
He would go on to qualify as a US Army Special Forces officer and work as a special forces adviser to the Cambodian Army during this time.
He earned several awards for his time in southeast Asia including a Silver Star, Bronze Star and Air Medal for heroic acts and commitment to his service.
Kellogg also commanded the 3rd Brigade, 7th Infantry Division during Operation Just Cause.
Twenty three years on from his first mission Kellogg commanded the 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment.
Due to his decades of success he was then given the honor of serving as the Chief of Staff of the 82nd Airborne Division and then as its Assistant Division Commander during Operation Desert Shield in 1990.
Kellogg also held roles as the Commander of Special Operations Command Europe and the command of the 82nd Airborne Division.
He later retired from the army in 2003 as a lieutenant general.
He was given over 30 prestigious awards during his time in the military.
Vlad’s forces are continuing to gain ground and Russia claims to have grabbed more eastern territory in recent weeks – leaving Russia in a strong position.
Just today Ukraine was placed under red alert with civilians taking cover in bomb shelters and one million people plunged into darkness.
Russia mounted a second “massive” attack on the country’s energy infrastructure overnight with cruise missiles and kamikaze drones.
Putin is even said to have ordered the deadly 16,000mph Satan 2 to be battle-ready sparking fears of a major escalation in the war.
It comes a week after he unleashed a terrifying new weapon onto Ukrainian civilians known as the “Oreshnik”.
The hypersonic ballistic missile attacked Dnipro – leaving behind a decimated city.
There are fears that Russia may have up to 10 of these new terrifying ballistic missiles in its arsenal.
As Putin sent out a chilling warning last week saying he will continue to unleash the devastating weapons as he looks to mass produce them.
The dictator warned the West – including his enemies in the UK and the US – that he would even use the weapon on them “if necessary”.
President Zelensky has already told his war-embattled nation that Putin is using Ukraine as a “testing ground” for his new weapons.
