She was pictured being led by away by Met Police officers following the protest against the Energy Intelligence Forum (EIF).
The meeting, which brings together fossil fuel executives and government ministers, has been branded the “the Oscars of oil“.
Thunberg and dozens of other eco-zealots chanted “oily money out” and attempted to block access to the luxury hotel.
Two Greenpeace eco-warriors abseiled down from the roof to unfurl a giant banner reading “Make Big Oil Pay”.
Swedish activist Thunberg was detained with around ten other activists before being driven away in a police car.
The Met confirmed six people were initially arrested on suspicion of obstructing a highway during the protest.
A further 14 were detained on suspicion of disrupting public order, and one other person was arrested for criminal damage.
