Fans flocked to social media to complain after logging in to watch the opening match between Karel Sedlacek and Rhys Griffin.

Coverage on PDCTV began at 12.30pm, but some viewers watching on the app complained they couldn’t hear any sound from the broadcast.

Following 25 minutes of silence on the streams, the PDC released a statement on X.

It read: “We are aware of a sound issue on PDCTV and are currently working on a solution with our providers.

“Thank you for your patience.”

But as action started from the famous Ally Pally, frustrated fans who had paid to watch were not impressed as the issue persisted.

One raged on X: “Patience? C’mon…the stream has been on for 25 minutes and it took y’all this long to even make a statement? It’s refund time y’all, this is embarrassing. I woke up at 6 AM in the States to watch this…I want to hear it too.”

Another said: “You gonna turn the sound on? 20 f***ing minutes of silence….the matches are starting and still no sound…what gives?

A fourth commented: “This is the Worlds lads not a Pro Tour it should be right.”

And a fifth added: “Absolute joke I’ve never seen an event go past without a serious issue. PDCTV needs a really big overhaul.”

Darts fans are eagerly awaiting a packed Super Saturday from the Palace, with eight matches in total.

Teenage sensation Luke Littler makes his first appearance at this year’s tournament tonight, taking on Ryan Meikle.
