His next appearance in competitive form will be against old adversary John Higgins in the first round of the Masters on Sunday January 12.
The seven-time world champion knows he is going to experience jet lag ahead of his return to Ally Pally, a venue that he has slammed for its backstage facilities.
And he admits it is not ideal preparation to travel halfway around the world just before his Masters defence.
But O’Sullivan already has two ambitions in mind for next year.
That’s despite not having any kind of resolution for 2025.
O’Sullivan said: “I get back to the UK on maybe January 3 or 4,
“I’d been in Saudi Arabia. I will be in Macau for a week. Then in China for 3-4 days before coming home. It’s probably not an ideal situation.
“Before the last Masters, I did so well in winning the Shanghai Masters and the UK Championship. I had played a lot of snooker.

“But at the moment I’ve hardly played any matches since August. It is what it is.
“Take the long view, it might not happen this year, or next year.
“Just keep on playing, enjoying it, having fun and see what happens.
“I don’t really have a New Year’s resolution. Maybe it’s just to stay healthy and be happy, I suppose.
“I’m in the gym a lot. I hadn’t run for a year, I just started running a couple of months ago because my knees were a bit battered.
“So I’m doing a little bit of running, a lot of gym work, keeping fit because I think it’s good for my mind and stuff like that.”
Inside Ronnie’s colourful career
FROM his lightning breaks to blasts at officials, Ronnie O’Sullivan has fired snooker into the spotlight.
The seven-time world champion makes almost as big an impact away from the table as on it.
O’Sullivan has three children – two daughters and a son.
And the Rocket’s on-off relationship with British actress Laila Rouass has also hit the headlines.
He has opened up on battles with his weight and addiction.
While the controversial cueist reckons he wasted NINE YEARS of his career by partying too hard.
Despite being worth £14million, O’Sullivan is renowned for his love of canal boats and snubbing flashy cars.
His rivalry with fellow star Judd Trump has been branded ‘snooker’s greatest feud’.
And Ali Carter had his nose knocked out of joint by the Rocket in their infamous ‘Snotgate’ row.
