Cops have confirmed they have arrested a 49-year-old man on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, who remains in police custody.

A murder investigation has been launched following the tragic death of two women at the scene, aged 38 and 24.

Officers were first called to a block of apartments in Santa Cruz Avenue, Bletchley, around 6.36pm yesterday following reports of a stabbing.

Two others remain in stable condition after being taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Blood was seen spattered on the door of a home near where the alleged rampage happened.

Forensics officers were seen searching a home with a Christmas wreath and kids’ toys strewn outside.

One neighbour, who asked not to be named, told The Sun: “It’s mortifying.

“I heard all the ambulances last night but you don’t expect anything like this to happen around here.

“And on Christmas day of all days.”

Another claimed emergency services treated a victim in the street before taking them to hospital.

They said: “[Paramedics] were working on him in the street. And the other [victims] were covered in a white tarp.”

A dog was also injured in the incident and despite being taken to vets, did not survive.
