And he has now put pen to paper on a pro deal – four years after the death of his father.

Reyes Jr, who was a part of the Spain side that reached the semi-finals of the U17 Euros in May, said: “It is a very special moment for me.

“I have signed my first professional contract with Real Madrid and I want to thank the club for its trust and my family for its daily support.

“I will continue working and doing my best to go very far.”

Reyes Sr died in a car crash four years ago at the age of just 35.

He was killed alongside his cousin as the Mercedes they were travelling in came off the road and burst into flames near his hometown.

TV footage showed the charred wreck of the Mercedes Brabus S550V on its roof by the A-376 motorway near Alcala de Guadaira.

Reyes spent two and a half seasons at Arsenal, contributing 23 goals and 27 assists in 110 games.

Reyes went on to play for a host of other big clubs including Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Benfica and Sevilla.
