He also explained to his followers that he did it as a way of raising awareness and money for James’ Place, a charity that provides support for suicidal men in Liverpool and London.
Davies said: “Well here it is, I’m raising money for @jamesplaceuk who help save lives of men in suicidal crisis, with free life saving treatment in there centres.
“Since opening in 2018, James’ Place has treated over 1,500 suicidal men, delivering over 7,500 therapy sessions providing hopefully futures to men that felt like they didn’t have them.
“The fundraiser is still going so if you can donate it will go a long way the link is in my bio!
“Thank you all again for the donations so far and let me know what you think of my new look for mental health!”
Davies provided a link to a JustGiving page on his Instagram.
His initial target of £1,000 was surpassed within just a few hours.
He later thanked fans on Instagram for supporting the cause, writing: “Thank you to everyone who has donated. You support is beautiful!! We have already reached the goal but @jamesplaceuk needs all the help they can get so if still can help them with donations, it will go a very long way and help a lot of men across the UK.”

The total amount of money raised at time of publication is an incredible £1,866.
The midfielder’s former Everton team-mate Dominic Calvert-Lewin commented three blue hearts under the Instagram video to share his support.
Referee Mike Dean also took to the comments to joke: “About time pal!”
Davies left Everton this summer after turning down a new contract.
He made an immediate Premier League return by joining Sheffield United in August.
However, he is set for an agonising four months out after suffering a freak injury in training.
