Knifeman attacks preschool children leaving boy, 5, fighting for life in horror stabbing on street in Poland

A BOY of five has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in the chest by an elderly knifeman in Poland.

The youngster was on a trip with other preschoolers in the city of Poznań when he was attacked in the street.

A boy, five, was stabbed in the Łazarz neighbourhood of the Polish city Poznań

It is understood the children were walking in the Łazarz neighbourhood when they were ambushed by a man wielding a blade at around 10am local time (9am GMT).

A five-year-old boy went into cardiac arrest after being knifed in the chest.

The weapon was knocked out of the man’s hand by a passerby before he and an off-duty policewoman overpowered him.

A 71-year-old man was then arrested as worried parents rushed to pick up their kids from the preschool nearby.

The boy was treated at the scene by witnesses before being dashed to hospital, where he is fighting for his life.

Polish Police tweeted: “In Poznań, there was a disgraceful knife attack on a group of preschoolers who were on a walk with their caregivers.

“The perpetrator was arrested by a policewoman passing by the scene of the incident in her off-duty time from Greater Poland Police.”

Cops have launched an investigation into the horror attack.

The attacker’s motives are not yet clear.

In Poland, children attend kindergarten until the age of seven.
